Welcome to the Leafy blog!

A very warm welcome from everyone here at Leafy Teaching Resources. This is the brand new, still sparkling (is the wrapper still on?) blog from the Leafy Teaching Resources team. We have created this blog so that we can spread the word about our teaching resources to as wide an audience as possible.

Ok, where shall I start? Well the beginning seems like a good place so here goes. Leafy Teaching Resources was created in the summer of 06, and set out with the aim of providing teachers everywhere with creative and innovative resources at the most affordable prices. Back then the sun was shining, the birds singing, and the grass shimmering as Leafy Teaching Resources was born. Actually it was overcast and wet but it doesn't sound so exciting that way. We were increasingly fed up with not being able to find the resources we wanted online so set about righting this wrong by creating our own online resource shop.

Naturally optimistic and enthusiastic we figured that we could have the business up and running by lunch, followed be a glass of wine with dinner, and then at supper maybe some Champagne as we basked in the glory of the hundreds of appreciative teachers saluting our majestic resources. A nod to my partner as we both dripped with the sticky smugness that derives from a job well done. Mmmn, not for the first time things didn't quite go that smoothly!

It was about two weeks later when we were bleary eyed and weary ( I could use the word haggard but apparently that is not an appropriate word for your partner!) that we realised just how difficult the road we have chosen would be. Obstacles the size of Ruth Kelly's smugness (is it me or does she just positively ooze with self-righteousness?) were overcome, dangers averted and pot holes were avoided. The road has been rocky but we are still here, still standing (well sitting, have you ever tried typing stood up, tricky!) and stronger than ever!

Since setting up our resource shop and and websites we have had nothing but positive comments from customers far and wide. It is this support for our project which has kept us going through the difficult weeks. So I'd like to take this opportunity and say a very big thank you to everyone who has visited our sites, subscribed to our newsletter, or bought some resources. Without your support we wouldn't still be here. So to you all, a very big thank you (oh its Christmas you can have a kiss on the lips if you like), without you we wouldn't be here. And hopefully that is a good thing!
